A new study has revealed that Miami, Florida is the most Instagrammable city on the East Coast. 

Real estate website New Jersey Real Estate Network has compiled a list of eighteen principal cities on the East Coast and analyzed Instagram hashtags for each city before ranking them according to the total number of posts. 

Miami, Florida 
Hashtag Volume: 85 million 

With 85 million posts using the hashtag #miami, the sunshine state’s second most populated city boasts miles of beaches and plenty of sun. Historic sites and marketplaces among the snaps reveal more than just somewhere to get a tan. 

Atlanta, Georgia 
Hashtag Volume: 40 million 

Using the hashtag #atlanta, Georgia’s capital highlights the vibrant history of the city within the 40 million posts. The land-locked city also boasts a photogenic skyline, the famous Varsity restaurant and plenty of art installations to fill photo feeds. 

New York City, New York 
Hashtag Volume: 34 million 

As well as one of the most recognizable skylines, the hashtag #newyorkcity includes plenty of vibrant snapshots of the 1.317 square-mile Central Park in its 34 million posts. Off the beaten path, there are many gardens with views of the river and even a 9,335-square-foot panorama displaying the entire city. 

Boston, Massachusetts 
Hashtag Volume: 25 million 

Bustling streets, murals and triumphant marathon runners are among the 25 million posts using the hashtag #boston. The capital of Massachusetts state has plenty of historical tours and buildings to explore including Fenway Park and the Paul Revere house. 

Orlando, Florida 
Hashtag Volume: 24 million 

Orlando’s 24 million posts on the platform using hashtag #orlando overwhelmingly feature the city’s theme parks, of which there are over a dozen. As well as rollercoasters, Orlando has plenty of shopping malls to explore and nightlife to enjoy. 

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 
Hashtag Volume: 12 million 

Philadelphia boasts opportunities to pose with the Liberty Bell and run up the ‘Rocky’ stairs among its 12 million posts with the hashtag #philadelphia. Its most famous food, the Philly Cheesesteak, has over 438,000 posts alone. 

Washington D.C, District of Columbia 
Hashtag Volume: 11 million 

The nation’s capital has 11 million posts on Instagram using the hashtag #washingtondc and apart from the White House, it showcases plenty of museums and monuments in the city such as the Lincoln Memorial. 

Tampa, Florida 
Hashtag Volume: 11 million 

Tampa’s 11 million posts under hashtag #tampa include a separate 4 million for #tampabay. Away from the bay, Tampa boasts fine dining and nightlife as well as attractions like Busch Gardens. 

Baltimore, Maryland 
Hashtag Volume: 9 million 

Maryland’s most populous city has 9 million posts on Instagram using the hashtag #baltimore. Known as ‘Charm City’, Baltimore has a lively entertainment scene with plenty of music and art to enjoy. The city’s historic architecture is also featured widely. 

Charlotte, North Carolina 
Hashtag Volume: 4 million 

Boasting a population twice the size of the state’s capital city, Charlotte’s 4 million posts under hashtag #charlottenc feature scenes of its vibrant outdoor life and the many foodie hotspots across the city. Charlotte also boasts the NASCAR hall of fame and other museums that celebrate the rich history of the city.
