Princess Celebrates New Star Princess
Princess Cruises and Fincantieri Shipyard celebrated the start of construction for the Star Princess, the second ship in the Sphere Class. The keel, the foundation of the ship, was laid in a ceremony at the shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. This marks the beginning of over two million man-hours of construction.
Star Princess, joining its sister ship Sun Princess, will be the largest ship in Princess Cruises’ fleet, accommodating 4,300 guests. Built on a unique platform, it will offer both familiar Princess experiences and innovative new features, such as:
- The Dome: A transformational entertainment venue inspired by Santorini.
- Next-level Piazza: Featuring a glass sphere.
- “See it to believe it” Princess Arena: A technologically-advanced main theater.
- A majestic, three-story dining room: Offering unforgettable wake views.
The ship will also boast luxurious staterooms and suites, and be powered by LNG fuel technology for a more sustainable future.
Star Princess is scheduled to debut in August 2025, with cruises already on sale.
