Aqua Expeditions is a relatively new travel company that began in 2007 with one ship and a dream of offering unparalleled travel experiences, in the utmost comfort, to modern-day adventurers cruising the world’s greatest rivers. Beginning with the Peruvian section of the Amazon River, Aqua Amazon sailed through one of the most remote parts of the world.  Increased demand for Aqua Expeditions unique river safari led to the launch of a second custom designed vessel,  Aria Amazon,  in 2011.   Now, Aqua Expeditions is launching a third ship, this one set to sail in Cambodia and Vietnam later this month.  In this time-lapse video we see the new ship being constructed and gain a bit of insight into the company as well.

Aqua Mekong, Aqua Expeditions’ third luxury vessel will be sailing the Mekong River in Cambodia and Vietnam beginning September 30^th. The lavish ship will be the first of its kind on the river, providing guests with accommodations on par with a five-star hotel and shore excursions that will leave even the most seasoned travelers in awe. The ship will feature 20 luxuriously-appointed suites, a full spa, fitness room, screening room and will offer custom-designed cuisine from Executive Chef David Thompson, who was awarded the first-ever Michelin star for a restaurant serving Southeast Asian food.
