Carnival Corporation Named Among the World’s Top Companies for Women
Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK), the world’s largest cruise company, today announced it was named one of the World’s Top Companies for Women for 2024 by Forbes, a leading source of business news worldwide. Carnival Corporation was the only cruise-specific company to earn a spot on the list of the top 400 female-friendly companies.
Presented by Forbes and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider, the World’s Top Companies for Women list was determined through an independent survey of approximately 100,000 women working for global companies across 37 countries. Respondents were asked to rate their employer’s performance across a series of gender-related topics, including gender pay equity, management’s responses to female discrimination concerns and whether men and women have the same opportunities for advancement within the company. In addition, respondents were asked to rate their overall willingness to recommend their employer and assess them across broader workplace satisfaction questions. Based on these direct and indirect employee recommendations, along with an evaluation of women in leadership positions, only the top 400 companies were recognized.
“At Carnival Corporation, we are focused on the advancement of women’s leadership and diversity throughout our organization, and we are proud to see our efforts recognized among companies who share our commitment,” said Bettina Deynes, global chief human resources officer for Carnival Corporation. “Between our Women Officer Network, Women Warriors resource group and several other women-led shipboard and shoreside initiatives, we’re fostering a supportive workplace environment where team members can have thoughtful discussions, cultivate leadership skills and learn from each other while building a network to excel their career.”
This recognition as one of the best companies in the world for women builds on a series of honors that Carnival Corporation has earned for its companywide operations and commitment to employment excellence and diversity, equity and inclusion. This includes a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index, designating the company as an Equality 100 Award: Leader in LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion recipient for the seventh consecutive year. In addition, the company’s Women Officer Network was recently recognized by the Seatrade Cruise Awards for Investment in People for the program’s significant contribution to employee recruitment, training, advancement, diversity and inclusion, and well-being initiatives.
This latest recognition from Forbes underscores Carnival Corporation’s commitment to providing all team members with a welcoming and inclusive work environment with equal opportunities for professional growth throughout their career path. The company’s success is a direct result of its over 160,000 team members, who are at the heart of delivering unforgettable happiness to millions of guests by providing extraordinary cruise vacations while honoring the integrity of every ocean sailed, place visited and life touched.
