Celebrate the First Day of Spring Today At Carlsbad Ranch

Today is the first day of Spring and The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch is a perfect Instagrammable, colorful backdrop for friends + families to celebrate the changing of the seasons.

The SoCal attraction features a full slate of programming that will shake off remnants of the winter blues. Activities include:

  • Take in the traveling sculpture exhibit, Glass in Flight, by celebrated artist Alex Heveri. Glass in Flight is a unique outdoor installation featuring over three dozen larger-than-life sculptures of birds and insects, expertly crafted from Dalle de Verre glass and steel to embody the wonder of flight.
  • A New Butterfly Encounter experience just past the Illusion Garden perfectly timed to Butterfly Day on March 14!
  • U-Pick Blueberries: Enjoy our seasonal 2-acre U-Pick blueberry patch based on availability. Purchase 1-pint baskets for $8 each at the blueberry stand to enjoy the U-Pick experience.
  • American Flag of Flowers: Red, white and blue petunias strategically planted on a 300 by 170-foot hillside pay tribute to the United States.
  • The Artist Gardens: Imagine your favorite painting transposed into a colorful garden using flowers as an art medium. The displays of Spring flowers are as instructive as they are beautiful. Each illustrates how color can be used and enjoyed in gardens at home.
  • Demonstration Garden: The Flower Fields are lucky to have the Master Gardeners of San Diego County create its beautiful Demonstration Garden. This garden features 9 vignettes appropriate for small spaces or for those looking for earth friendly practices.
