Costa Flagship To Redefine Onboard Features As Well
Costa Cruises’ new flagship Costa Diadema debuts November 7 during a special christening event in Genoa, Italy, the home of the Italian cruise line. Promising longer stays in port with some overnight, Costa Cruises will hold month-long debut and celebration of their new flagship, setting the stage to bring a new standard for big ship ocean cruise lines. Not to forget ship-focused passengers, Costa gave a nod to onboard features, releasing details of a 1,650 promenade on the new ship.
A 1,640-foot promenade on Deck 5 of Costa Diadema will provide guests a new way to experience the Mediterranean. The Costa flagship will feature large, split-level public rooms directly overlooking the sea and conveniently interconnected to create an atmosphere similar to a lively seaside resort.
The outdoor promenade on Costa Diadema will provide a spectacular vista of the sea and the longest promenade of Costa’s fleet. Intended to feel like a stroll on a gorgeous Italian shore, featured will be two large glass mosaics by artist Roberto Bixio. Titled “Riviera Ligure“they will feature imagery from the Mediterranean coasts embellishing both the left and right side of the promenade and cover a total area of 440 square feet.
Measuring 16 feet across and up to 26 feet wide the promenade will feature six cabanas and two Jacuzzis that extend out from the side of the Costa flagship, creating the sensation of being suspended over the sea. In the cabanas guests can relax over drinks or enjoy a romantic sunset dinner, comfortably sheltered from the wind.
Bars and restaurants will feature top-quality Italian regional wine at Vinoteca Gran Duca di Toscana or a beer from Birreria, or an aperitif at Bar Bollicine, which features a wide selection of the most prestigious Italian brands of Prosecco and Spritz aperitifs. At the stern of the ship, will be elegant Teodora Bar.
