Costa & NatGeo Partner On Shore Tours
Costa Cruises has partnered with National Geographic to offer a new line of shore excursions on its cruises to the Mediterranean, Canary Islands, and Madeira. These tours will take guests to some of the most unexplored and captivating destinations in these regions and will be led by expert local guides trained by National Geographic.
In the Western Mediterranean, guests can hike in a protected beech forest in Rome, learn about sea turtles in Naples, and discover the island of Ibiza’s authentic countryside and beekeeping traditions. In the Eastern Mediterranean, guests can enjoy an authentic local experience in Mykonos, learn about oyster aquaculture in Dubrovnik, and explore marine biology in Rhodes.
In the Canary Islands, guests can taste volcanic wine in Lanzarote, explore the mountains of Gran Canaria, and visit a traditional dairy farm in Tenerife. Finally, in Madeira, guests can learn about sustainable agriculture at a working farm.
These tours are designed to be small-group experiences that promote a responsible and sustainable style of travel. A portion of the proceeds from each tour will go to the National Geographic Society to fund research and sustainable programs around the world.
