Cunard Rocky Mountaineer Synergy Promises Unmatched Alaska Experience
Cunard has a trio of luxury cruise ships Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth, all renowned for impeccable White Star Service. Rocky Mountaineer is the world’s largest private luxury tourist train, distinguished by encouraging travelers to inhale the mountain air and let nature take their breath away. Put the two together? Travel magic is bound to happen. That Cunard Rocky Mountainer synergy looks to be a solid win for travelers. Especially those travelers wishing to visit Alaska. Or just for me because we don’t get a lot of opportunities to talk about Train Travel here at the cruise blog.
First to know: The Cunard experience will return to Alaska in 2019, for the first time in over two decades. That brings good reason to reconsider an Alaska sailing, even for those who have been to the land of the midnight sun before. This is different and Cunard is delighted about what they have in store for cruise travelers.
As we return to Alaska for the first time in twenty years, we are excited to partner with the Rocky Mountaineer, ensuring our passengers enjoy the remarkable scenery and Alaskan wildlife in the utmost of luxury both by land and by sea. -Josh Leibowitz, Senior VP, Cunard North America.
I remember our first time in Alaska with Princess Cruises on one of the first-ever Twitter trips nearly a decade ago. That was an escorted cruise tour that included a ride on the Rocky Mountain Railway. That was a spectacular way to see more of Alaska. That’s not what this is. This is different.
Cunard’s partnership with Rocky Mountaineer promises unmatched experiences in Alaska.
You see, the Rocky Mountaineer railroad is the only one of its kind to travel its routes and is known for the majestic views of mountains and wildlife. That happesn onboard an all-dome fleet offering opulent, historic storytelling, first class cuisine, and a first-hand look at the vast and untouched wild beauty that lies in the Pacific Northwest. Frankly, this is a really good match as partnerships go. Not all are.
Cunard Rocky Mountaineer Synergy: How It Works
Rocky Mountaineer tours are offered pre-and post- voyage and bundled with either three or five nights’ accommodation and two full days aboard the train. The expedition travels through a spectacular array of scenery with glacier and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies, through winding river canyons, mountain passes and remarkable tunnels. Highlights include the Continental Divide, Kicking Horse Canyon, Spiral Tunnels and the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon.
