Dutch Day Celebrates Holland America Heritage
Holland America Line is introducing a new “Dutch Day” experience featuring special menus, treats, and activities to celebrate its Dutch heritage.
The Centerpiece: Dutch Dinner and Treats
- A themed Dutch Dinner will be served once per cruise in the main dining room, featuring classic and contemporary Dutch dishes like shrimp cocktail, pea soup, and Dover sole.
- The Lido Market will also offer some of these dishes.
- Passengers can enjoy fresh-made poffertjes (small, fluffy pancakes) daily at Crow’s Nest CafĂ© for a fee.
- In collaboration with Daelmans Stroopwafel, a popular Dutch bakery, the cruise line will feature special desserts like Stroopwafel Cheesecake and Stroopwafel Napoleon.
- Guests will receive a Daelmans Stroopwafel as a turn-down treat instead of the usual chocolate.
Orange Party
- The popular Orange Party, featuring live music, orange-themed cocktails, and Dutch snacks, will be held on Dutch Day.
- Passengers are encouraged to wear orange to celebrate the Dutch Royal Family (House of Orange).
Dutch Day reflects Holland America Line’s commitment to offering immersive cultural experiences to its passengers.
