Holland America Debuts 28-Day Glacier & Volcano Itinerary

If traveling from frigid, glacier-strewn waters to tropical Goddess-dwelling volcanoes in less than a month isn’t a metaphor for a New Year’s glow up resolution, we don’t know what is. Holland America Line has launched a brand new 28-Day Glaciers & Volcanoes: Alaska to Hawaii voyage that takes guests from some of Alaska’s most scenic and seldom-visited ports to Hawaii’s legendary beaches and volcanoes, all for less than $131 a day.

Departing from Seattle on August 31, 2025, cruisers will embark on a journey through The Inside Passage with glacier-cut fjords, lush rainforests and diverse wildlife within arms’ reach. The trip hits major Alaskan mainstays like the Hubbard Glacier, Sitka and Anchorage, but also features overnights in Valdez, a paradise for fishing enthusiasts; Kodiak, known for its eponymous bears; and Dutch Harbor, the “most seafood landed” city for an 18th consecutive year, thanks in part to its Deadliest Catch fame.
From Dutch Harbor, guests are treated to five blissfully quiet days at sea (silent travel, anyone?), where Holland America Line’s Global Fresh Fish program takes center stage. The program, represented in partnership with famed chef Masaharu Morimoto as its ambassador, engages a

global network of 60 ports to source and serve 80 types of fresh fish onboard, going from port to plate in less than 48 hours. On this trip in particular, guests have the unique privilege of experiencing a wide variety of fresh fish native to both Alaska and Hawaii; the culinary team will expertly craft signature Wild Alaska Halibut, astonishingly fresh raw Hawaiian tuna, and everything in between from the connecting waters. Pescaterians rejoice.

The second half of the trip allows travelers to defrost and revel in the natural wonders of The Aloha State. From Kauai to Honolulu and Kona, there is no shortage of suitably laid-back Polynesian cruising to be had. A major cultural and biodiverse itinerary highlight is the unparalleled vantage point from the ship’s wraparound decks of Mt. Kīlauea. Located at the summit caldera, the Halemaʻumaʻu fire pit is the fabled home of the legendary Pele, Hawaiian goddess of fire, volcanoes, lightning, wind and dance. She is also known as the creator of the Hawaiian Islands, spewing red-hot lava into the sea for millennia before us and eras to come.
The one-of-a-kind trip docks back in Seattle on September 28, 2025. You can access images of the voyage HERE
