Key International Travel Changes in 2025

2025 will see changes that aim to enhance security and streamline travel processes for both domestic and international journeys. Travelers are advised to check the specific requirements and deadlines well in advance of their planned trips to avoid any travel disruptions.

  • US Domestic Flights: Starting May 7th, most US travelers will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or another acceptable form of ID (passport, Global Entry card, etc.) to board domestic flights.
  • UK Entry: Travelers to the UK must now obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) online or via a mobile app for a £10 fee.
  • Europe Entry: The European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) is expected to launch in May 2025. US citizens and other visa-exempt travelers will need to obtain an ETIAS authorization before visiting any Schengen Area country. This involves a €7 fee for multiple entries within a 90-day period.
