AmaWaterways new ship, AmaMagna is on an inaugural voyage from Vilshofen, Germany to  Budapest, Hungary.  Newly-released photos of AmaMagna’s public spaces showcase the latest AmaWaterways design and décor.

Taking a look then stepping back to think about it, this river cruise line seems to be working from the playbook of big ship ocean cruises.

To begin, AmaMagna is twice the width of traditional river cruise ships which will indeed dictate where the ship can sail. Sort of like Crystal River Cruises. Still, with twice the width, the design change adds just 20 percent more guests, allowing generous personal space…or space to add more attractions, depending on how we look at it.

Roomy accommodations, more than half of the 98 suites measure between 355 and 710 sq. ft.

• Full outside balconies
• Open seating areas and
• Luxurious bathrooms, complete with double sinks and walk-in showers.
• Six Grand Suites measure 474 sq. ft.
• An 710 sq ft Owner’s Suite come with even more amenities with separate seating areas and sizable bathrooms complete with spa-like bathtubs.

Ship Features

Movie Theater– In a move we never anticipated, enhanced AMAMagna entertainment offerings include an onboard cinema.

Shopping- A new and large boutique has been added as well.

Fitness Mind & Body– An expansive Zen Wellness Studio features a large exercise area, a juice bar and two massage rooms, along with manicure, pedicure and hair services

Top Deck Attractions- A sun deck with a large heated pool, relaxing whirlpool and sky bar.

Accessible To All, Everywhere– A full spectrum elevator brings accessible sun deck facilities and serves all four decks.

Unique Programming

Concierge Golf Program-provides the opportunity to experience four top-level golf courses in Hungary, Slovakia, Austria and Germany while enjoying the magic of river cruising.

Familiar Godmother

AmaMagna will be officially christened by her godmother, respected travel expert and Emmy Award-winning television host, Samantha Brown, during a July 11 christening ceremony in Grein, Austria.
