Windstar CX Policy Keeps Travel Dreams Alive
Windstar operates a fleet of six small yachts carrying from 148 to 342 guests on voyages around the world. Well, most of the time anyway. Like other cruise lines, Windstar has cancelled sailings (CX) to places in the world affected by coronavirus COVID-19. But going 180° From Ordinary as they do, Windstar has a unique traveler-focused twist on an otherwise bad news topic.
Cancel Up To 15 Days Before Departure, Lose Nothing
Travelers booking a Windstar cruise sailing on or after June 1, 2020 can cancel up to 15 days before their cruise departs with no cancellation fee. Commonly, if canceling less than two weeks before travel, cancellation fees can equal the entire amount paid. In other words: no refund, travel dream done.
The new traveler-focused Windstar Travel Assurance Booking Policy allows cancellation of a cruise booking up to 15 days prior to departure with 100% Future Cruise Credit to be used on another Windstar departure within one year of the issue date of the credit.
Windstar Has You Covered
Windstar’s Travel Assurance Booking Policy automatically applies to new and existing cruises departing on or after June 1, 2020 through December 31, 2021.
In what might have been simply in an abundance of caution a week ago, Windstar has cancelled all Asia sailings in 2020.
2020 travelers can indeed join Windstar on a coastal cruise sailing along the U.S. West Coast or sail in similarly safe Alaska, Greece, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, or Tahiti and the South Pacific.
