Their 2017 Northern Lights Tour might be just want the bucket list ordered.

“The best part of this Alaska Northern Lights tour is the people we meet,” said Gondwana EcoTours Founder Jared Sternberg. “We visit a local family who lives off the grid and learn about their lifestyle in the Alaskan backcountry. Our local guide, a former sprint dog racer, has amazing stories about her racing experience, including being mauled by a grizzly bear. We learn the game of curling from interesting locals, and even have homemade cookies and tea with a family who has a pet reindeer.”
Guests will view the magnificent Northern Lights displays from a heated log cabin away from any city lights with magnificent panoramic views. During the day there will be time to explore Fairbanks, take an exciting sled dog ride, or rejuvenate in the natural hot springs pools at Chena. Fairbanks is situated within a ring-shaped region around the North Pole called the auroral oval. This location affords a terrific balance of occurrence, frequency and activity of Northern Lights.
Each Alaska Northern Lights tour is limited to 12 guests and includes cozy accommodations and personal wake-up calls when Aurora is active. Gondwana EcoTours offers an array of Alaska Northern Lights departures from September 2016 – March 2017 starting at $2,345.
Gondwana Ecotours also offers trips in the Amazon Rainforest with indigenous guides, encountering some of the world’s last remaining mountain gorillas in Rwanda. Travelers can visit with the Maasai people of Tanzania, explore Machu Picchu without the crowds, hike with grizzlies in Alaska, and more.
