Norwegian Cruise Line Expands Itineraries

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is significantly expanding its presence in the Asia Pacific, Australia, and New Zealand regions from September 2024 through March 2026. This will be the first time NCL has deployed this many ships in the region for an extended period, offering over 85 voyages on the Norwegian Spirit, Sun, and Sky.

Expanded Destinations: NCL will offer cruises from 15 departure ports, including first-time departures from Cairns, Australia, and Lautoka, Fiji. The itineraries will feature over 60 destinations, many of which are first-time visits for the cruise line.

Diverse Itineraries: The new itineraries range from 9 to 19 days, offering guests an average of 10 hours in port at each destination. This provides ample time to explore each location’s unique culture, cuisine, and attractions.

Overnight Stays: NCL has planned 36 overnight stays in 11 different ports, including popular cities like Osaka, Hong Kong, and Bangkok, as well as first-time overnights in Bali and Lembar, Indonesia.

New-to-the-Region Ships: The Norwegian Spirit, Sun, and Sky will all be sailing in the region, each offering a variety of itineraries and amenities to cater to different traveler preferences.

Increased Demand: NCL is responding to the growing interest in Asia Pacific travel, particularly from North American travelers. The new itineraries offer a mix of popular and lesser-known destinations, catering to a wide range of interests.

Ship-Specific Itineraries:

  • Norwegian Spirit: Will begin sailing in Asia in May 2024, offering a variety of itineraries to Japan and Southeast Asia through November 2025. From December 2025 to March 2026, it will offer cruises between Australia and New Zealand.
  • Norwegian Sun: Will debut in Australia in December 2024, offering cruises between Australia and New Zealand, including new itineraries to the Great Barrier Reef and South Pacific. It will also sail in French Polynesia and Asia.
  • Norwegian Sky: Will begin sailing in Asia in January 2025, offering cruises to Japan and Southeast Asia through March 2025.
