Regent Refines Details, Doubles Bandwidth
Cruise travelers who are heavy internet users on land are often concerned about losing that ability at sea. Rightfully so. Some cruise lines and ships are better at it than others as are some users. It is an unusual day when news of any cruise line working to improve global connectivity crosses my desk. Today is one of those.
“Across our fleet, we continue to refine the small details, such as creating a faster internet.”- Jason Montague, Regent Seven Seas Cruises president and chief executive officer
Luxurious Regent Seven Seas is doubling the bandwidth available on their ships. That’s the headline and perhaps exciting news for those who may have sailed with all-inclusive Regent Seven Seas. It’s complimentary but not so good.
Travelers who must have connectivity frequently find their best option off the ship, at WiFi hotspots on land. Once there, security is often an issue. Nevermind that those same travelers were connected through the airport, on the plane ride and at most places they passed through on the way to the ship. Once on board, they pray. This is a big deal to them.
