Out of Alaska and into The Yukon, we experienced seamless movement from one Holland America Line land property to another.   Beginning in Denali at the opening of Holland America Line’s new Denali Square, we explored many of the options cruise travelers might choose before or after sailing.

Westmark Hotels is the Holland America Brand that runs throughout the regions.  The appropriately equipped wilderness lodges are up close and personal with amazing landscapes that run throughout Alaska and The Yukon.  Many feature self-service laundry, breakfast, in-room coffee and other amenities including an on site tour booking desk.

 

But it was not until we reached The Yukon that we felt the true isolation these places experience year-round.  “There is no such thing as 2-day shipping here” said Cindy Billingham of the Yukon Tourism and Culture board.  On a tour of tiny Dawson then a road trip later to Whitehorse, we got a real feel for that part of the world; a really nice place to visit.

Of particular interest:  Holland America Line is the only cruise line that enables a visit to The Yukon.
