Viking Wins Top T&L Honors, Again
Viking has been awarded the top spot in its categories for oceans, rivers, and expeditions in the 2023 World’s Best Awards by Travel + Leisure readers. This is the second year in a row that Viking has been named the #1 Ocean Line for ships with 300 to 799 cabins, and the first year that Viking has been named the #1 Expedition Line. Viking is also rated at the top of its categories for oceans, rivers, and expeditions by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler. No other cruise line has ever received these same honors by both publications at the same time.
Viking has been praised for its elegant small ships, no children, no casinos, and no nickel and diming. The company has also received other recent accolades, including being voted “Best Cruise Line” by Food & Wine readers, “Best River Cruise line” by Women’s Health, and “Best for Relaxation, Worldwide” by Men’s Health. Viking also dominated Cruise Critic’s 2023 Cruisers’ Choice Awards, receiving top honors in six categories.
The announcement of Viking’s latest accolades comes at a time of continued growth for the company. Viking has welcomed 17 new ships to its fleet since 2020, including eight new award-winning Viking Longships on the rivers of Europe; new vessels on the Mekong, Nile, and Mississippi rivers; four new, identical ocean ships; and two Polar Class expedition vessels. Viking’s continued success is a testament to its commitment to providing guests with an exceptional travel experience.
In addition to its award-winning ships and itineraries, Viking is also known for its focus on education and enrichment. The company offers a variety of onboard lectures and enrichment programs, and its guests have the opportunity to interact with local experts and participate in cultural experiences at every port of call.
