Windstar Cruises has begun its 40th anniversary celebration with a special event in Kusadasi, Turkey, where two of its ships, the Star Legend and Wind Spirit, docked together. The celebration included an exclusive dinner at the Ephesus ruins, marking the largest such event hosted by Windstar.

The evening featured speeches from Windstar executives, including Janet Bava and Stijn Creupelandt, who highlighted the company’s history, crew dedication, and the support from owners Xanterra Travel Collection and The Anschutz Corporation. Captains Mark Rowden and Pedro Pinto also spoke about their careers and Windstar’s impact on cruising.

Windstar, founded in 1984, plans to continue its anniversary celebrations through October 2025, with various onboard activities like trivia events, special cocktails, and the sale of 40th-anniversary Seabags made from recycled sails. The company also aims to engage its community through social media with the hashtag #40yearsofWindstar, sharing historical moments and crew recognition. Upcoming renovations and fleet expansions are also part of the excitement for Windstar’s next 40 years.
